Treatment Specifics and Average Timeframes

Treatment time depends on the strength of the shockwaves and the number of locations being treated.

With KEPE a common dose is 1000-1200 pulses per site, which can be accomplished in under 5 minutes.

Animals normally begin to experience pain relief from shockwave treatment after the 2nd or 3rd treatment. Treatment is recommended every 5-7 days for a total of 5-10 treatments (depending on severity and chronicity of the condition being treated).

Severe arthritic patients may required treatment every 6 to 12 months.

Shockwave therapy should be used in conjunction with rehabilitation to return patients to full activity.
